Jared was born in Salt Lake City and raised in Sandy, Utah. He attended the University of Utah where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Environment Studies. Jared attended in the University of Oregon School of Law in Eugene, Oregon. As a law student, he was selected as one of four students to participate in the Small Business Clinic, which afforded him the opportunity to advise actual clients on various legal matters related to their businesses. Jared was also an associate editor for the Oregon Review of International Law. During law school, Jared clerked at the firm of Weatherford, Thompson, Cowgill, Black & Schultz, as well as the legal department of Freightliner, LLC. Following graduation, he joined the law firm of Hughes, Thompson, Randall & Mellen, P.C in October 2007. Jared practices in several areas of the law, including family law, adoption, general civil litigation, real estate litigation, collections and foreclosures, and estate planning and probate. He is a member of the Southern Utah Bar Association.
Personal: Jared is married with four children. In his spare time, he enjoys attending sporting events, skiing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
